Karl Hubenthal (1917–1998) was a cartoonist who did both editorial and sports cartoons. ==Biography== Hubenthal (known as "Hubie") attended both Hollywood High School (class of 1935) and Chouinard Art School, now Chouinard Art Institute, in Los Angeles.〔(Karl Hubenthal–Biography ) Bob Staake and The Estate of Karl Hubenthal, 1999, Retrieved 9/30/2010〕 Hubenthal got his first job in the Art Department of the Los Angeles Herald-Express, the same year he graduated from high school. A few years later, Hubenthal began drawing a weekly sports cartoons.
